Deut. 25:11-12 seems to be the obverse of Exo. 21:22, in which the woman and child are protected from the (possibly) deliberate attack by the husband’s enemy. In Deut. 25, the man is protected from a deliberate attack by his opponent’s wife. All forms of assault are punished in Scripture.
